Royal Mojito
Ingredients:
- 50 ml White Rum
- 20 ml fresh lime juice
- 2 bar spoons of brown sugar (or Seven Dates Concentrate)
- Seven Dates Original to top.
- 3 cubes of ice
- Fresh mint leaves
Directions
The Aromatic Base: Place 8-10 fresh, unblemished mint leaves in the base of a sturdy highball glass. Add 20ml of freshly squeezed lime juice and 2 bar spoons of rich brown sugar (or, for an even deeper, more natural flavor profile, use Seven Dates Concentrate).
The Gentle Muddle: Using a wooden muddler, press the mint leaves gently into the lime and sugar just 3 or 4 times. The goal is to release the fragrant essential oils without tearing the leaves, which would release unwanted bitterness.
The Ice Foundation: Fill the glass completely to the brim with finely crushed ice. Crushed ice is essential here as it rapidly chills the drink and provides the perfect dilution for a Mojito.
The Royal Pour & Churn: Pour 50ml of premium White Rum directly over the crushed ice. Insert a long bar spoon right to the bottom of the glass and rapidly pump it up and down (churning) to thoroughly mix the muddled base with the rum and ice.
The Sparkling Crown: Top off the glass with ice-cold Seven Dates Original (approximately 100ml). Give it one final, gentle fold with the bar spoon to incorporate the sparkling amber beverage without losing its crisp effervescence. Add a little more crushed ice on top if needed to form a small mound.
The Dramatic Garnish: Take a fresh, generous sprig of mint, lightly slap it against your hand to awaken the aroma, and plant it in the ice next to a straw. Take a raw cinnamon stick, use a culinary torch to lightly char the ends until it releases a wisp of spiced smoke, and nestle it into the glass.
Serve: Present immediately while the aromatic smoke still lingers, offering an unforgettable olfactory prelude to the first sip.
