Winter Flame
Ingredients:
- 45ml Irish Whiskey
- 120ml Seven Dates Original
- 1 single espresso
- 1 teaspoon of dark brown sugar (preferably date syrup)
- Fresh heavy cream
- 2 beans of coffee
Directions
Warm the Glassware: Fill the Irish Coffee mug with hot water to pre-warm the thick glass. Empty and dry it thoroughly. This prevents the glass from cracking and keeps the cocktail perfectly hot.
Build the Base: Add 1 teaspoon of dark brown sugar into the warmed mug. Pour in 1 single shot of hot espresso and 45ml of premium Irish Whiskey. Stir thoroughly until the sugar is completely dissolved into the dark liquid.
Heat the King of Soft Drinks: In a separate small pitcher or using a steam wand, gently heat 120ml of Seven Dates until steaming, being careful not to bring it to a boil. Pour the warm Seven Dates into the mug, stirring gently to integrate it with the coffee and whiskey blend.
Float the Cream: The heavy cream must be only lightly whipped—thick enough to hold air, but still pourable. Hold a warm bar spoon upside down over the mug, resting the tip just above the hot liquid. Slowly pour the cream over the back of the spoon. This professional technique ensures the pristine white cream floats in a thick, distinct layer on top, sharply contrasting with the dark liquid below without mixing.
The Garnish: Lightly dust the surface of the white cream with freshly grated nutmeg. Delicately place a single, flawless roasted coffee bean in the center.
Serve: Serve immediately. The true magic of this drink is experienced when sipping the intense, passionate, hot liquid through the comforting chill of the cold cream.
